CONCORD RECREATION AND BEEDE CENTER CLOSED

In order to help protect our Town employees and the community, the Town is only operating essential services until further notice; all municipal buildings are closed and Concord Recreation will be cancelling or postponing all programs, facility reservations and special events through April 12th. Additionally, the Beede Swim & Fitness Center will be closed until further notice. While we recognize that these closures and cancellations are unprecedented, our decision to do so is in an effort to stop the spread of Covid-19. Please know that we are in constant communication with the Town Manager’s Office and the Public Health Department and will continue to work in collaboration with them to assure that we are doing our part to keep our community safe. Our Department is currently working with instructors to organize class extensions or refunds/credits for programs and memberships effected; please be watching for these notifications in your inbox soon:
• If you are currently a Beede Member, you can expect to receive an email from Beede Center Management in the coming days regarding your membership and monthly payments.
• If you are an Afterschool, Before School, Terrific Tuesdays or Carousel participant, you can expect to receive an email from the Childcare Manager in the coming days regarding program refunds and upcoming charge dates.
• If you are a participant in a general recreation program, you can expect to receive an email from a Recreation Supervisor in the coming days regarding class postponements, refunds, and cancellations.

For information on COVID-19 and the Town’s response, please visit www.concordma.gov/coronavirus2019. We encourage you to sign up for news and notices for emailed information or follow us on social media – instructions are on the front page of the Town's website.

Concord Recreation’s mission of “supporting and promoting community through wellness and play” continues to drive our decisions and we appreciate your patience and continued commitment. We look forward to working with you again in the near future.

The Concord Recreation team continues to be focused on providing our mission (Supporting and promoting community through wellness and play) through these trying times. We encourage you to get regular physical activity as it is one of the most important things you can do for your health (CDC). Spending time outdoors, especially in green spaces, is one of the fastest ways to improve your health and happiness (Time Magazine) and Concord has many great resources to do so.
Reminder that while Concord’s playgrounds and play structures will be closed until further notice and Athletic fields are closed to group gatherings and sporting activities/events. Town parks will remain open and residents are encouraged to continue using public, open spaces with their facilities while practicing the CDC guidelines for social distancing and hygiene. In addition to our Public Parks, Concord has a fantastic trail system, for maps of hiking trails in Concord https://concordma.gov/734/Trail-Maps-Guides
